This is one trend I've had a blast with, I'm a fan and I bet I'm not alone... From adding a little extra to an outfit, to giving an over-sized top/dress some shape, the "Belted Waist" can do no wrong (well if you don't misuse & abuse it).

The belted waist aka cinching has been hot for a minute, however it seems to be making a big come back judging from Balmain, Celine & Lanvin's SS 12' collection... Well I say we can do with a little bit of cinching :o)

Growth!!!

Wowie my hair has grown so much... Its been a year and about 4months since I cut my hair and I remember how obsessed I was about growth initially. I was such a product junkie and tried any and everything, I eventually just stopped taking it too seriously.... During the period I stopped caring so much the hair has grown a lot. I think initially growth seemed so slow because of how eager I was, I also think that once the hair grew to a certain point, it started to grow even faster ( I think,lol).

This dress is just another oldie but goodie I found... Segi got it for me about 5years ago... I remember it was like my best dress at some point, I loved it and wore it sooooo much, lol. It feels so good to be able to come out for some air this weekend. I got to see "The girl with the dragon Tattoo" today and Rooney Mara was absolutely brilliant, y'all should go see it but bear in mind that the movie lasts for 2hrs 38mins... Lets all say a little ~~a lot~~ of prayer for Nigeria, that there be a turn around for the better and that pending issues start getting resolved soonest, AMEN

We only spent two nights in Ghana, so we had to make the most out of it. On our first night out, we started out at this cool lounge/bar called Firefly. Very cool paa...lol. Then we ended up at a club called Twist.

On our second night , we went to this restaurant/bar/lounge place called Rhapsodys, which i hear is opening in Lagos this year (you heard it here first...lol). We had dinner,then we moved to the bar and had a nice time. Please if anyone reading from Lagos knows how to dance azonto, I'm willing to pay to learn(okay, maybe not but i want to learn). It was really entertaining watching people do it.

I wore this black body con dress ,which is one of my least favourite things that I own, but this black and gold cape totally transformed the dress.

My friends and I visited Ghana for a couple of days in December, just as the year was about to end. It was so much fun, I hope we can do it again soon.

We discovered this pool at the hotel we were staying after going to swim somewhere else. Ignorance isn't bliss.

This was some kind of Ghanaian cirque du soleil type of show. This little boy could bend his body into any form,shape,etc. Incase you aren't sure what is going on in this picture, let me explain. The man in black and yellow, is carrying the table with his teeth. Everyone was screaming. Best part of the show, it was FREE!! :)

Isn't this incredible? The artist and his agent asked us to pay to take a picture. Trust ,my friend Nneka stylishly took the pictureand we took off sharp sharp.

Ghana was so much fun.I wish everyday was a holiday :(

Sunday Best: Aso-Oke Dress

Since I've been home I've had to sort out stuff I want/need and those I don't from my old clothes, in the process I found this dress Zuby made me back in 2008. I actually remember sketching the style for him, lol... The Aso-Oke (traditional Yoruba fabric) used in making this dress was actually the family aso-ebi worn for my granny's funeral 17years ago, so yeah its even almost vintage,lol.

Hope everyone is doing great... We are already entering the 2nd week in 2012, I suspect this year will fly even faster than 2011. Have an awesome week guys, and to my peeps in Lagos not even this "fuel subsidy" issue will bring us down, stay safe guys.

Hey guys, I totally forgot to post this but back in December 2011, I assisted Mile of Styling Mile on a project he was working on. We were doing a product photo-shoot for an online store called Veniviici, this was my first time getting involved in a shoot like this and boy it was a lot of work. It really isn't all fun and games at these shoots,lol... I still managed to have some fun while I was at it, it was a lovely experience.

Since someone had a backstage pass ;o) here are some "behind the scenes" pictures, hahaha...

I am starting to feel "christmassy", lovvve December!!! Great news, Camp ends on Tuesday. Not so great news, I'm going back tomorrow :( Went out last night to eat. Yummy food and great company, what more could I ask for. I wore my top from iamisigo with this skirt from Topshop.

SOS: Can someone good with makeup pleasssssee give me some pointers, i don't know what i am doing wrong. My makeup always looks the same no matter what colour of eyeshadow/lip gloss i use and it NEVER really shows in pictures. Also can anyone recommend good foundations for combination/oily skin?. Night Walk

I'm really excited to share this with you guys. Back in October, I saw these shoes online while I was with Salewa and I decided I wanted it as one of my birthday presents. I was dreaming, fantasizing, and everything about these shoes. Everywhere (online) I checked, they were sold out. Luckily for me (after relentlessly searching), I finally found them and in my size...Whoop!!! Then the next hurdle, who to buy them for me? (shebi its supposed to be birthday present). At a point, I thought Salewa would pity me and buy them cos of how I was behaving. I even heard her say it, though she claims she never did, LOL. This is where the best boy in the world comes in. Shortly after it was mine. Third hurdle, how to transport my beloved shoes to Lagos for me. I waited for 7 long weeks (or more) for them and now they are finally home!!!

Can you believe these shoes???. Do you now understand why i couldnt rest.

The best part is how comfortable they are(i'm serious), plus the almost 7 inches heels do wonders for me.

Hey guys.. I have been home for a few days(taking a break from camp). For those who haven't done their NYSC yet, let me inform you that camp isn't for the faint-hearted. BE WARNED!!!!!..

Please ignore whatever is going on with my fringe( and my shorts too). The sun there is extra vicious.

Honestly though,no one prepared me for camp. I've heard all sorts of stories about how camp is fun (so i wasnt expecting HELL. DO NOT listen to those stories, they are LIES!!.

Back to camp tomorrow :(

On a brighter note, i bought this gorgeous blouse and dress on saturday from the iamisigo pop up shop. Cant wait to wear them(soon i hope).

Hiii Guys.. I know this is like 10 years late,but better late than never, right?. I have been so busy with job hunting and NYSC(may God forgive the humans that came up with it) and you know how the internet in lagos can be. It has taken me forever to upload these pictures..longggggg..

Anyways,back to the post. After the designers showed their collections, there was a competion at the end of the show for the Best Young Designer. Some of the designers were Iamisigo, Viv La Resistance, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Akpos Odudu, Alali, a thirteen year old (sorry, I didn't get her name), and others.
My favorite Collections were Iamisiogo's and Ejiro Amos Tafiri's. The others had 1 or 2 pieces that I loved too.

I totally forgot about these pictures I took while I was with Shally. I love these wedges so much, I think I'm obsessed. I finally satisfied my craving for a neon/cut-off arm clothing item with this top... In other news, I'm currently slugging it off at the NYSC Camp in Lagos and will be here for the next 3weeks. For those who don't know NYSC is a compulsory national youth service program for Nigerian graduates. It lasts for a year, and includes a 3week boot camp (which I'm currently in...&which hasn't been easy).
I really should have finished posting all the pictures from the MTN LFDW by now, this is so bad of me but its been partly because of the amount of pictures, trying to select and at the same time dealing with slow internet, I'll sort everything out soonest, promise. Hope everyone's great.

My Scrapbook

Hey guys, I promise I haven't abandoned you :o)... So I'm in the process of clearing my room, kinda getting rid of stuff ~~junk~~ I don't need... One of the things that seemed to be taking over my room was the heap of magazines I've acquired over the past year... I don't understand why I can't just throw these magazines away when I'm done. My solution to this, was to make a scrapbook where I'd keep my favorite things from these magazines. After procrastinating for a while, I finally got the scrapbook in September and gradually started. I thought I'd share some pages from my scrapbook with you guys :o) ... So far so good...

Don't you guys see a fashion magazine editor in the making ;o)... As you'll have noticed, each page has a theme... The scrapbook is not quite finished and is still a work in progress, I've got loads of empty pages to fill... After cutting out the goods from my magazines, I've finally thrown away the huge heap & my room is a happy bunny :o) ... How's everyone doing? enjoy the rest of your week.

I have totally forgotten how much Minz' stuff cost, I know the bag was not more than £10 and for the jewelry, nothing cost more than £5.

It seems like all our bargain stories are centered around thrift/charity stores, I can't explain why but we do get great bargains at regular stores... I think its more exciting with the thrift stores tho because there's this feeling of scoring something really unique, something you won't usually find at the regular stores never-mind the price... Nonetheless we should/will do a post on regular store bargains soon enough.

Hey guys, so today I dug out one of my "Zuby Numbers", remember my post about my tailor in Nigeria here , this dress is one of the numerous things Zuby has made for me... A couple of years ago, I discovered this ankara store in Lagos called "Da Viva", it stocks really pretty and vibrant ankara fabrics... On my first visit it felt like I was in a candy store, it was sooo hard to choose... I went back with my mama (huge ankara/adire lover), I knew she'd love it too and I was sooo right... This fabric is one of the ones I copped from Da Viva and it wasn't long before it made its way to Zuby's shop.

It comes in many colors, but I love the mustard one so much that I refused to buy any other color when I couldn't find my size in mustard... I've always loved pussy bow blouses, they are so feminine and versatile... I love that this blouse does not just have the pussy bow, its also got lovely big arms, I knew I had to own it the moment I saw it... Polka dots are back in high rotation but if you ask me, they never went away... I took my friend Minz to some of the Charity/thrift stores here and she got some nice things including this bag I'm carrying, she is very lucky that I didn't steal it from her, lol.

Do you guys remember when I was dreaming about this dress in this post ? I had made up my mind that I was going to get it the moment it arrived at Macy's, but then I changed my mind... I realized later that I had a dress from Zara that is similar except that it did not have a white collar... So I gave myself a new DIY ~~do it yourself~~ project, to make a big white collar!!! Alas it just seemed toooo long... So what did I do?

I didn't wear the collar the conventional way (as seen on the asos model). I kinda liked it worn this way... yeahhh right, I totally didn't realise until this very moment that I wore it the wrong way. I planned to wear it the way the asos model wore it but I cannot even explain how/why I managed to wear it this way, it just seemed to be the easiest/normal way to wear it (like a bib), lol... But hey it worked, or so I'd like to believe... At least I now know 2 ways to rock the collar... How's everyone? Hope your weekend was great? I know most of you have seen pictures of the collections from NYFW's Arise-Made in Africa show & I really don't wanna bore ya...BUT I had to do a post on Lanre Dasilva Ajayi's labour of love collection. I mean I've gushed so much about it, its only right... During the show, for some reason names of the designers were not being shown BUT from the moment I spotted lace I kinda already knew it was LDA... It was classic LDA but extra extra extra to the maxxx, she went hard on this collection, this collection is everything and I'm still in awe...What I'm needing now is the Navy blue/white dress (8th dress), Lord have mercyyy.

I'm in love with the structure of this dress, the details on the sleeves are so beautiful... Its been over a year since I've had it and I totally forgot about it until recently, the best thing about it is the fact that I got it for £5 at the tk maxx close to my then building in Aberdeen... I can promise that I got the most amazing deals at that particular tk maxx, infact at a point I was convinced that they were possessed for reducing their prices so low... What do you guys think of the necklace? I liked it on my computer screen but not so much upon its arrival... I think it'll be great for "spicing up" plain sweaters/jumpers this winter... Hope this week has been great, I think it went by too slowly, TGIF

P.S- I've found it so exciting looking at street style images from the New York Fashion Week, but forgive me dear Americans, the real queens ~~and kings~~ of street style will most definitely be bringing it at the London Fashion week :o) ...Have a great weekend guys.

P.P.S- I Just watched the Arise NYFW "Made in Africa" show on a live stream and I was blown away. Lanre Dasilva Ajayi left me speechless, I cannot wait to get a hold of pictures from that collection and ~~drool~~ put them up here... JBL was awesome as expected, a lot of bright colors with some Nigerian old school fashion vibe going on, great craftsmanship... I also realised that I've seriously been sleeping on Tsemaye Binitie, very impressive...Bottom line, I'm just so proud of where African fashion is headed. Great stuff I tell ya.

Its been a while since my last update but I'm here again with my bargain tales, lets catch up....Most of the stuff are thrifted, however I get loads of great deals from stores... I wore the green pants and the bag in the first picture here already... I've been looking for a trinket box for ages now, the ones I saw previously were either too small or I just didn't like them, this changed immediately i saw the wooden box...It was love at first sight,lol...then I saw the price tag, it had to go home with me :o)

I think I Od'd on the bow ties by getting 4 of them, but I'm probably giving two of them to my brother because he was on my mind when I was getting them... I love the brightness of these shirts, also love the retro thing going on, and at that price you can't lose...The brown sandals are very comfortable, they are perfect for when you don't want to wear flats but still need to be comfy... The travel bag kinda gives me that Ralph Lauren vibe, love it.

Anyone that knows me knows how much I love glee, watching glee makes me soooo happy. I once tweeted that I'll be collecting all the seasons for my unborn children because it'll definitely be fun watching and singing along with them, lol.

I've missed glee so much, I cannot wait for the new season... Can't believe I never saw this video until now, the glee cast made a video for fashion's night out...this video made me smile and I thought to share it with you guys :o)

It is extremely difficult for me to pull of the "fierce" face whenever I take pictures, I end up just laughing and I'm forever smiling. I eventually gave up after various attempts to be fierce today, lol.

Isn't this H&M Snake print dress stunning? It is so pretty and feminine, I love it and guess what guys it is £14.99 (are you at H&M yet?) ...The snake print is taking over from the leopard print at the moment...There are loads of snake print stuff in H&M and Zara...I think the Snake print definitely looks more "expensive" lol (My friends & I always ask ourselves if something "looks expensive" whenever we are out shopping).

It is getting really cold down here and I am so not looking forward to winter. I will not even tell lies about loving Autumn/Winter fashion, truth is I could care less how I look when winter sets in, you don't wanna see me in winter, I look like a nuisance... This year however, I'll be making huge efforts to stay stylishly warm... I know I will be wearing this dress a lot too.
