An Afternoon in Versailles

A week ago, I visited France for the first time. For the longest time I've wanted to go there and as I'm in closer proximity it was a no brainer. I didn't really make any serious plans for the trip other than the must-dos for tourists, i.e Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees etc, but one thing I was sure of was that I wanted to go to Versailles. So a day after I got to Paris, I bought my ticket online and the next morning my friend and I set off in an Uber cab (Uber is such a blessing).

Thirty something minutes after, we arrived at Chateau de Versailles. It is so massive that a 2-day visit is recommended if you want to see the entire estate. However, we had only a few hours to spare so we didn't get to see most parts of the palace, the palaces of Trianon and Marie-Antoinette's Estate. Maybe next time I'll go back and explore it proper.

From what I did see, all I can say is that it is a really beautiful place and the architecture is out of this world.

I kept thinking of how lucky the Kardashians and their guests were to have partied there. So lucky!

Thanks to my friend, Anu who helped take my pictures *mwahh*

Magic Cube

Top and Skirt - Rukky Simone, Sandals - Zara & Bag - Michael Kors

Hi guysss, hope your week's going great, I know I've gone on and on about how much I love Rukky Simone and even posted about the brand HERE... So on my birthday my colleagues at work bought me some Rukky Simone goodies including my outfit in this post (thanks guys)... I am now truly a certified Rukky Simone girl :o)... I'm wearing a matching shirt and flared skirt from Rukky Simone and the print reminds me of the magic/rubik cube, who remembers those? A couple of weeks back, I went away to Istanbul and bonded with my camera again. What's better than a bright and pretty outfit on a cold  spring day?

A sunny Abu Dhabi morning

Happy New Yearrrrrrr... I wish you all a beautiful year ahead, go kick ass this year like me guys ;o) ... I had an amazing holiday, my christmas lunch was everything I hoped and much more, time with family is always the best time :o) ... I also got to spend my new year in Abu-Dhabi and Dubai with family and it was all kinds of awesome.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the many wonders of the UAE and the tourist in me definitely wanted to see everything, I mean why bother travelling if you can't get snaps of these places right??? Weird as I've found the religious motif trend made popular by Dolce & Gabbana in 2013, I think its kind of cool... Considering that I am trying to remain "cool" for as long as I possibly can,  I did not hesitate to snap up this dress at DOS clothing store in Ikoyi. DOS clothing store has got some great pieces and you should definitely check them out, their instagram account is dosclothingstore

Dress - dosclothingstore, Bag - Lulu Guiness, Shoes - YSL, Earrings - Mango

Cheers to the weekend guys.

With Love from Accra

About 3 weekends ago I was in Ghana (Accra) with my Mr. for what he called our "engagement-moon" lol and it was such a good time. Can I just say this "I LOVE GHANA", Segi had told me so many nice things about Ghana so I knew I had to go someday and I am so glad I did. I was so excited about the trip it was ridiculous, I found every opportunity to say "chaleeeee" and I was really really intrigued by the way Ghanians speak. All I can say is that Ghanians are very pleasant, honest and kind people. We loved a song we heard in a cab so much that the cab driver gave us the CD... Ghanians love to dance, don't get me started with the variations of azonto dance my eyes witnessed. One of the best parts of the trip was our hotel, Movenpick was awesome and I mean every word of it, I want to go to Ghana again just for Movenpick, the breakfast was everything, like the best I've ever had... Alright alright, I'll continue my stories with pictures...

Photo op at the Labadi Beach

Trying on clothes/dressing up for dinner and a night out.

We bumped into his friend Kari and her boo at the bar in Movenpick and also had another friend join us, the night turned out to be so much spontaneous fun.

Foodie...
We tried some Banku/Kenke
This was being sold all over the Labadi beach. The beef thing looks like Suya but really isn't.
The most awesomest Lobster ever from Mamma Mia
Freshly made waffles, best part of breakfast, yummm
I Screammm

Shopping...
Kente Slippers on Osu Road/Oxford Street
Little wrist band for my brother
Vintage Blouses from Makola Market. Vintage/2nd hand stuff are strangely called "fosa" or something of that sort in Accra. Also because of the recent change in the value of Ghana Cedis it was funny and confusing to hear things like "1.5" which simply meant "15 Ghana Cedis" it confused me so much like do you mean 1.5million or 1,500 Cedis, lol.
Painting we bought on Osu Road/Oxford Street

LOL @ our rabbit teeth.

Dear Ghana, I'm coming back for you.

P.S
I heard the sad news of the death of former Ghanaian President Atta Mills not too long after my trip and my condolences go out to all Ghanaians. May His soul rest in peace, Amen.

Nights Out

We only spent two nights in Ghana, so we had to make the most out of it. On our first night out, we started out at this cool lounge/bar called Firefly. Very cool paa...lol. Then we ended up at a club called Twist.
I finally wore my Iamisigo dress
My beautiful friends; Tem, Jen and Neka

On our second night , we went to this restaurant/bar/lounge place called Rhapsodys, which i hear is opening in Lagos this year (you heard it here first...lol). We had dinner, then we moved to the bar and had a nice time. Please if anyone reading from Lagos knows how to dance azonto, I'm willing to pay to learn(okay, maybe not but i want to learn). It was really entertaining watching  people do it.
I wore this black body con dress ,which is one of my least favourite things that I own, but this black and gold cape totally transformed the dress.
