White Shirt Series: The Wrap Shirt (WSS4)

We all love wrap dresses, so I'm sure it's no different when it comes to wrap shirts. As far I am concerned, wrap shirts are classy, infact wrap anything (with the exception of skirts because some of the ones I see on Instagram... side eye*). Another reason why this style is so great is that, sometimes buttons can be a such a hassle. It's just nice not to have to deal with that occasionally.

Here's how I styled my wrap shirt.

Look 2

This look was inspired by Carolina Herrera. She is the Queen of white shirts. Sitting right next to her on the White Shirt throne is Leandra Medine of Man Repeller, she has the BEST white shirts.

DIY - Turn your Poncho into a Blouse

Do you have a poncho, a long scarf,  pashmina or a wrap? In a few steps you can turn it into a blouse.

I've had this poncho for a while now and it has gotten too cold to wear it as a cover so I started thinking of what I could do with it. Check out the styles I came up with.

Style 1- Asymmetric Blouse

What you need:
Needle
Thread
Measuring tape

To achieve this style I folded the poncho into a triangle. I measured my shoulder width, then tacked the right side of the folded poncho together (not the base of the folded poncho, think of how a triangle is shaped) with my needle and thread using my shoulder measurement (basically, use your shoulder measurement as a guide to know where to tack the poncho. Start from the top of the angle down to the slant of the fold. Where your measurement stops is where you tack). This is where your head will come out of.

I also tacked about 15cm after the initially tacked spot to create a hole for my right arm to go through.

Style 2 - Wrap Blouse

This style is very easy to do and didn't require any sewing. All you have to do to achieve this style is wear your poncho/scarf/pashmina over your shoulders like you'll normally do. Then cross one side over the other and take both ends to your back and tie it. It's that simple.

What do you guys think? Would you try this?

Who Wore it better? - Denim Jumpsuit

First and foremost, do we all agree that jumpsuits are a godsend. They are so easy and are mostly very stylish, you really don't need to do much with a jumpsuit. You guys know how much we love jumpsuits. Now, on the other hand, denim jumpsuits are a special breed. They are easily the coolest jumpsuits in JumpsuitLand. I never met a denim jumpsuit I didn't love. Honestly, if I had my way (and funds) I would buy all, but this is where common sense comes in. loll.

I was going to do a regular outfit post on the denim jumpsuit I bought recently, then I remembered that Salewa did a similar post last year. So I decided to make it a little more fun with a "who wore it better" post.

Who do you think wore their denim jumpsuit better? Let the battle begin!!

Double Denim

Hey everyone!! I can't believe it's almost the end of January, this year is sure in a hurry. How are you doing with your resolutions? If you haven't started yet, don't worry you have eleven months to go. At least that's what I tell myself. lool.

Don't you just love denim and how timeless it is. Point me to anyone who doesn't (well, maybe Steve Harvey) so I can give them the side-eye. I've always wanted to try the denim on denim trend but instead of wearing a shirt with a pair of jeans, I switched it up with this playsuit I got from Asos.

That's a wig, just incase you are wondering. And yes, I made it myself.

Sunday Best - Pinstripes & Oxblood

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? I can't believe that 2014 is literally over, time really flies. This year has been a good year for me, my family and friends and I thank God for his mercies and faithfulness. I'm looking forward to an even better 2015, Amen.

I'm on a blogging roll, can you tell? lol. I hope the lazy bug doesn't bite me soon.

I wore this on the last Sunday of the year. Truthfully, this outfit favours Work Chic, but we all know there's a thin line between what can wear to church and work.

RED

Hey everyoneee, Merry Christmas!!! Can't you just feel all the excitement in the air? Hope you all are having a great time today.

Remember this post? It inspired me to dress up for Christmas this year. I've always wanted to try an all red outfit and what better time to do it than Christmas. I was a bit worried that it'd look like overkill but I quite like it, hope you do too.

Merry Christmas again everyone. Please be safe.
